| Innovation
and Enterprise |
|
|
We
keep pace with developments
in the world of work and the
modern economy through innovations
in areas of study – take
a look, for example, at the
wide range of courses offering
in each faculty.
|
|
|
|
We
have made sure that in our flexible
degree scheme you can elect
to take other modules from different
subject areas to broaden your
knowledge or tailor your programme
to your specific areas of interest
or career path. We
‘re well known for the
way we combine an academic approach
with a practical approach to
university –level study.
|
|
|
|
|
Many
of our programmes offer you
that chance to work in a relevant
job for a period of time –
invaluable experience when it
comes to getting the job you
want when you graduate.
All of our programmes give you
the opportunity to develop IT,
research and communications
skills which we know employers
are looking for.
We
offer evening study options
if you want to combine study
and other commitments at home
or at work. And if you’re
a budding entrepreneur, Hajvery

Student
Friendly
|
|
|
|
Hajvery
University is rightly regarded
as an extremely welcoming and
friendly place in which to study.
You’ll be on first name
terms with your lecturers and
will benefit from our small
class sizes and working on group
projects with your fellow students.
You’ll
also find that away from the
classroom. Hajvery’s students
know how to enjoy themselves.
|
|
The student’s association
also run societies for students
to get away from it all through
activities such as, meet new
friends and develop your interests
by joining a non-sporting club
like the Film Club, Internet
Society or the Writers’
Club.

| Links
with Industry |
|
The
University has built up strong
links with industry over the
years. As you will see from
this prospectus, in addition
to the local businesses with
whom we have good, mutually
beneficial relationships, many
of the companies we deal with
are world leaders in their field.
These relationships benefit
the University and our students
in many ways. Not only do these
companies employ our graduates
and take student placements,
|
|
|
|
|
they also work closely with the University
on research and consultancy projects
and have a strong input into the design
and structure of our programmes.
Our considerable industry
links are further demonstrated by
the fact that many of our lecturers
have business experience, which enables
them to provide students with real-life
examples to complement their academic
teaching.

Personal
Tutorial Scheme
|
|
|
|
Once you start
your programme at Hajvery
University, you will soon
meet your Academic Advisor.
This is the person who will
look after your academic progress
throughout your university
career. Your Adviser, also
known as a Personal Tutor,
will arrange meeting at regular
intervals throughout the year
and
you can arrange special meetings
if you run into an urgent
problem which you need to
discuss with someone in the
department. Where necessary
they can liaise with other
members of staff on your behalf.
|
|
|
|
| Computing |
|
There
are two good reasons why we
regard computers as vital to
your life at Hajvery University.
The first is the emphasis employers
place on computer skills when
recruiting graduates. The second
is that we base many of our
programmes on computer-based
learning – probably the
most important teaching aid
to be developed in recent years.
|
|
|
|
During the course of your studies
at Hajvery University you will
spend a considerable amount
of time in computer classrooms,
which offer both stand-alone
microcomputers and computer
terminals linked to larger multi-user
computers.

Practical
Experience – Internship
|
|
|
|
One
of the benefits of a placement
is that it allows you to start
testing what you learn in
an academic environment within
a related practical environment.
It also means that you can
apply newly gained practical
experience when you return
to University after completing
your placement. It is a very
effective way to mix theory
and practice.
|
|
| Case
Studies |
|
Most
of our programmes incorporate
case studies, through which
you apply newly gained theoretical
knowledge to a current problem
experienced in the workplace.
You will also find that you
remember theoretical work much
more easily when you have seen
just how it can be applied in
a real situation.

Career Relevant Programmes
|
|
|
|
The
University is constantly formulating
new and updating current programmes.
We actively seek input form
students, staff and potential
employers in order to ensure
that our programmes meet the
changing needs of the marketplace.
By ensuring the relevance
of all our programmes you
can be confident that when
you graduate from the University,
your skills will be highly
regarded by employers.
|
|
| Academic
Expertise |
|
Most
of our academic staff have strong
links with industry, commerce
and the professions, both in
the Pakistan and overseas. Many
of them operate as consultants
providing research and consultancy
services and offering ongoing
training programmes. These links
with industry help to ensure
that you participate in the
most up-to-date education possible,
working with academic staff
who are continuously keeping
pace with change.
